Lone Star Boxer Rescue is a nonprofit 501©(3) organization dedicated to the health and well being of the boxer breed. LSBR is run and managed by volunteers. Our main objective is to rescue, rehabilitate, and re-home boxers and boxer mixes that come to us from many sources including shelters, owner surrenders and strays. LSBR was founded in 1998 by a volunteer, Sil McCall.
In 2002 LSBR had 5 volunteers that rescued and re-homed 30 boxers. In less than 10 years, these numbers have soared, thanks to the generosity of donors like the BMB Charity Committee.
In 2011 LSBR was able to re-home over 200 dogs while maintaining an average of 70 dogs in rescue at all times.
LSBR was faced with rescuing 4 pregnant boxer/boxer mixes that LSBR fostered and delivered puppies providing a safe and healthy environment for both mother and puppies. All moms and puppies were spayed and neutered prior to adoption to help decrease the ever growing numbers of unwanted pets in the Greater Houston Area. BMB’s donations are used to help with vetting costs including exams, vaccinations, de-worming, heartworm treatment and prevention, microchipping, spay/neuter, emergency surgeries as well as medicines, and food for the dogs brought into the organization.
I cannot express enough gratitude to the BMB Charity Committee and the employees who donate to the Charity Committee for helping to make this possible. All the former, current and future rescued pups thank you as well!
